Families and Teachers Working Together for Student Success

At the James Otis Elementary School, we believe that families and teachers are partners in helping every student succeed. Academic Parent-Teacher Teams (APTT) provide an opportunity for families and teachers to work together to support student learning and achievement.

What Is APTT?
APTT brings families and teachers together to:
1) Review student academic progress
2) Understand grade-level learning expectations
3) Set meaningful goals for students
4) Learn simple strategies to support learning at home
5) Create a shared plan for student success

Why Is APTT Important?
APTT connects learning at school with learning at home. Families receive practical strategies and activities they can use to reinforce the skills students are learning in the classroom.

APTT is not about giving families more homework. It is about giving families the tools and confidence to support their child's learning.
