The James Otis is an extended day school where students will have extra time at the end of the day to engage in a number of classes. Most commonly, specialists and classroom teachers teach about certain countries from around the world like Colombia, Argentina, Armenia, Japan, etc. Otherwise, depending on the grade level, there are classes on games, science, robotics, and a number of other subjects. These are taught in cycles and by the end of the year, students will have engaged in a number of extended topics. Presentations to parents also occur at the end of most cycles, so family will have a chance to see what their children have learned.
