Welcome to Grade 1! My name is Katie Pagano, and I am so excited to begin this school year together. In our classroom, my goal is to create a nurturing and engaging environment where every child feels safe, supported, and inspired to learn.
Each day, students will take part in interactive lessons filled with hands on activities, group discussions, and games that make learning fun and meaningful. I take time to get to know each child as a unique learner, providing the individual support they need to grow and thrive. Together, we will build strong foundations in reading, writing, math, and critical thinking, while also encouraging creativity. Beyond academics, I place a strong emphasis on kindness, respect, responsibility, and empathy; helping students grow not only as learners but also as caring individuals. I believe that learning is a partnership, and I look forward to working closely with families to ensure every child feels encouraged and supported along the way. |

Welcome to First Grade!
I am thrilled to be back in the classroom this year! Our first grade family will focus on learning about each other—celebrating our similarities, embracing our differences, and discovering how we can support one another throughout this exciting year of growth and learning. Our classroom library will constantly grow as we discover what we individually and collectively want and need to read about next. We will use our library as a gateway to explore fascinating topics including history, geography, weather, math, technology, folk tales, engaging fiction, and so much more. Get ready for a fun-filled year of discovery, curiosity, and academic adventure! About Me: In my many years with Boston Public Schools, I have had the privilege of teaching K1, first grade, K-2 intervention, and early childhood special needs and inclusive classes. I'm passionate about building a fabulous classroom library—it's always a work in progress and labor of love! During my free time, I love going on adventures with my family and our beloved dog, Gravy. Our two children are now young adults who are off to college, so we are embracing the empty nest phase. I look forward to getting to know your child and your family throughout this wonderful year! All are welcome in our classroom—please stop by and visit anytime |

I am looking forward to helping students learn and supporting their growth throughout the year. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my dogs, family, and going to the beach!
