4th grade is a challenging and rewarding year at the James Otis School. Students participate in a variety of learning opportunities in all academic areas. Students are engaged in many hands on activities, which promote growth and achievement. Students work collaboratively on projects and daily assignments that are aligned with the Common Core State Standards. Students are supported and encouraged to excel in the classroom. Students work very hard to prepare for the MCAS 2.0 in English Language Arts and Mathematics. Fourth grade is an important year in a child’s education. We have high expectations for our students. We hope to build a strong partnership with our students and their families. Together, let’s build and foster a 4th grade community of learners.
