Hi, I’m Meghan Ragusa. I started teaching in Dorchester in 2000 and I have been in East Boston for 8 years. I truly enjoy teaching and watching my students learn and grow each year. I look forward to working with my students as well as their parents. I enjoy spending time with my family, baking and being outdoors when I'm not at school. My hope is that each student leaves 2nd grade with a love of learning and confidence that stays with them throughout their lives.

Hello, my name is Ms. von Beren, and I am so excited to begin my second year teaching 2nd grade at James Otis Elementary School! I originally moved to Boston to pursue my Master’s in Education at Boston College, but quickly fell in love with the city and the wonderful community here—so now, Boston is home.
Second grade is such an exciting year of growth, and my favorite part of teaching is seeing students gain confidence in language and discover the joy of reading. Outside the classroom, you can find me running, exploring new places, or spending time with my family. I cannot wait to meet each of you and to work closely together throughout the upcoming school year! |

Welcome to Second Grade! My name is Cristina Tighe, and this will be my first year teaching at the Otis. I graduated from Providence College with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education as well as a master’s degree in Special Education.
I am so excited to begin this school year and to partner with students and families in creating a fun, engaging, and supportive classroom community. My goal is to help every student feel confident, valued, and inspired as they grow and flourish throughout the year. Outside of the classroom, I love staying active, spending time with my family and my Australian shepherd, Rosie, and relaxing with a good book. |
